The AIME is an invitational competition for the top performers on the AMC 10/12. It contains 15 questions to be completed within three hours, in which each answer is an integer number between 0 to 999. (The student will have space to write in the three digits, rather than selecting a multiple-choice response). The questions on the AIME are more challenging than those on the AMC 10 and AMC 12. Top-scoring participants on the AIME are invited to take the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) or the USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO), which will take place on February 6th, 2025. The USA(J)MO competitions put students on the path to potentially qualify for the Mathematical Olympiad Program (MOP), European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), and ultimately the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
